Founder's story
Hi there,
My name is Nicholas and I'm a paramedic and educator with a decade of experience. My journey started with the SAF where I serve with the Medical Corp as a senior medic.
During my tenure, I was attached with the SCDF ambulance and Emergency departments in Singapore. However, I noticed that many people did not know what to do when a medical emergency happens. In some situations, death could have been prevented.
One of my most memorable experience was responding to a call by a family telling us their grandmother had fainted in the shower for 30 mins and they could not wake her up. We jumped onto the ambulance and rushed to their home. Upon arrival, the family was panicking and ushered us to where their grandmother was. Her body was stiff and there were signs that she wasn’t breathing for quite some time. We immediately performed CPR and did what was needed and rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, the grandmother passed away that day. What the family didn’t know was that she had suffered a cardiac arrest, and if they had performed early CPR and AED was used, things could have been different.
It was this experience and a few others that prompted me to leave my career and pivot into educating people instead as I felt knowing what to do before an ambulance arrive would give people a significant chance of survival.
I believe first aid is like a superpower, that if we can master, it can save lives. The person you save tomorrow could be someone's father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister. Most importantly they are someone's love one.
Together we can save lives. We can protect families. We look forward to having you join us in one of our courses.
